Planning and Economic Development There's a new Master Plan, new regulations, and a new energy in the Meadowlands and the Chamber is working closely with the NJMC to advance the many redevelopment possibilites that beckon. We foresee a future that will realize $5 billion in capital development and some 50,000 new jobs. That's a lot of economic punch. Currently, our primary focus is on the Xanadu, Giants/ Jets Stadium and Encap Golf & Residential projects as well as the proposed Secaucus Transit Village and the Highland Cross and Paterson Plank Road redevelopment intiatives.
Environmental Reclamation The Chamber is now proactively partnering with environmental advocacy organizations like the Hackensack Riverkeeper and the NJ Audobon Society to promote Eco-Tourism and all of the outdoor and natural activities the region has to offer. Together, we will be offering programs that focus upon the integration of environment and economy and the mutual goal of nurturing the quality of life in the Meadowlands region for those who reside here. |
