Our Mission

The Meadowlands Regional Chamber is a respected business service organization that accelerates economic, community and business development by providing networking & relationship building; destination & tourism marketing; business education and leadership training; legislative and public affairs advocacy, and workforce development to businesses of all sizes all across industry sectors. MRC assists its member businesses by being a conduit of information and providing real-time business intelligence & referral services as well as cost saving value added member benefits.

Our Vision

The Meadowland Regional Chamber will become the nations leading regional business service organization promoting innovative and sustainable economic growth and exposure to business development opportunities for small to large size companies across all industry sectors. Beyond its creative services and advocacy, MRC encompasses a nationally accredited convention & visitor’s bureau, an educational & philanthropic foundation and widely-circulated business publications that will advance Chamber and CVB initiatives.

Strategic Vision 2010-2012

To stay focused on our Mission and achieve our goals, we are utilizing the following:

· Advise and alert the membership on a broad range of advocacy issues that are related to planning and land use, economic development, transportation infrastructure and mass transit, flood control, education and workforce readiness, market-rate and affordable housing, environmental reclamation, renewable energy, and government tax, regulatory and fiscal policy.

· Work closely with the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority, the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, State agencies, and County and local government to provide advice and leadership on critical issues effecting the competitiveness and economic potential of the greater Meadowlands region.

· Host and conduct a regular series of networking programs, idea exchanges, educational forums and discussion roundtables that foster ongoing member to member business relationships and facilitate personal, professional and leadership development.

· Grow the Meadowlands Liberty Convention & Visitors Bureau into an entity that can capitalize on the economic opportunities that come with an emerging primary destination.

· Utilize technology to provide the membership with timely and pertinent information leading to sound business decisions and to make member products and services more accessible to all

· Continue our leadership position in Workforce Development and Training by enhancing the MRC Bank web portal and the Workforce Development & Sustainability Consortium between the Bergen & Hudson WIBS, the Universities and the NJMC.

Transportation Advocacy
Supporting several transportation initiatives, including the integration of Secaucus Transfer Station, Meadowlink's Car Sharing and Commuter Shuttle proposals and key highway improvements like Rt. 3 Passaic River Bridge project.

Maximizing the Meadowlands Sports Complex
Partnering with the NJSEA to re-establish a vision for the redevelopment of the Sports Complex to include the Xanadu Entertainment/Retail project, a New Giants/ Jets Stadium, and the continued promotion of the Izod Arena and Meadowlands Racetrack.

Workforce Readiness
Partenring with the Bergen and Hudson Workforce Investment Boards (WIB's), local colleges and universities, and the NJ Meadowlands Commission to inform our members about readily available programs and advance our JOBS Initiative. Tourism
The Chamber has established the Meadowlands Liberty Convention & Visitors Bureau to capitalize on the power of this emerging global destination. Utilizing the latest technology we are marketing the region to national and international visitors through our virtual network of websites. Planning and Economic Development
There's a new Master Plan, new regulations, and a new energy in the Meadowlands and the Chamber is working closely with the NJMC to advance the many redevelopment possibilites that beckon. We foresee a future that will realize $5 billion in capital development and some 50,000 new jobs. That's a lot of economic punch. Currently, our primary focus is on the Xanadu, Giants/ Jets Stadium and Encap Golf & Residential projects as well as the proposed Secaucus Transit Village and the Highland Cross and Paterson Plank Road redevelopment intiatives.

Environmental Reclamation
The Chamber is now proactively partnering with environmental advocacy organizations like the Hackensack Riverkeeper and the NJ Audobon Society to promote Eco-Tourism and all of the outdoor and natural activities the region has to offer. Together, we will be offering programs that focus upon the integration of environment and economy and the mutual goal of nurturing the quality of life in the Meadowlands region for those who reside here.
