Small businesses throughout the United States struggle to provide health insurance and employee benefit programs for their employees. The Healthcare committee strives to educate our members about ways to reduce the cost of benefits, remain profitable and in compliance with legislative reform.
Keeping in line with the overall mission of the Chamber; helping businesses become and remain profitable, the members of this committee view ourselves as a resource for the Chamber’s members. We continually add experts in employee benefits, wellness, voluntary benefits, OSHA compliance, and behavioral health and other health related areas.
We provide Meadowlands Chamber members with events and information as needed to ensure our committees vision relative to employer benefits options, risk management, providers, wellness programs and NJ/Federal policy actions in this area.
What drives the efforts of the Health Care Committee is the recognition that all employers, and especially small employers, are struggling with the cost of health insurance and related benefits. In line, with the Chamber’s objective of helping businesses become more profitable, we strive to deliver tangible solutions to relevant issues that impact their bottom line such as: reducing premiums, encouraging wellness, assisting with OSHA compliance and preventing fines for non-compliance with legislative changes. We focus on showing business owner how they can become more profitable by using wellness as a tool to encourage productivity. And we discuss protecting business from the calamities of disability of a key employee or the need for long term care.
